Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jen's Carpet Cleaning LLC certified and insured?

Yes, Jen is an IICRC certified Carpet Cleaning Technician, and her corporation holds liability insurance

What is your cleaning process?
We use hot water extraction. The process first starts with our pre-inspection in which we identify the type of fiber, history, pre-existing conditions, and areas of special concern. This ensures we identify the cleaning process most safe and effective for your carpet/furniture. We then provide you with a free pre-inspection report, carpet care tips, and an estimate with options customized to your needs.

Our cleaning process starts with a grooming (or dry brush for upholstery), in which we loosen dry soil from the fibers, and vacuum it up. We then apply a pre-spray shampoo, pre-treat spots, agitate, and hot water rinse/extract. Our extractor injects hot water into the fibers, while scrubbing with a brush roll and extracting the soiled water with a powerful wet suction vacuum. If approved by you, we will then apply a fabric protectant to ensure a long lasting and stain-free carpet or couch.

Are the carpets and furniture left wet?
While our extractor’s powerful suction removes most of the water, the fabric will be left slightly damp. We recommend having moving air on the area for 4 to 12 hours for it to dry depending on weather conditions and type of material.

What if it rains the day of the cleaning?
It may take a little longer to dry, but as long as there is a fan on it, it will dry. If you do not have fans, we offer fan rentals for $60 per house in which we set up the fans for optimal drying post clean, and pick them up the following day.

What are Jen's Carpet Cleaning prices?

Our carpet cleaning service starts at .40 cents per square foot with a $120 minimum per job. All estimates are free, so there’s nothing to lose. Fine fabrics such as wool, bamboo silk, and silk are priced per piece, and specialty stain removal is based on each unique carpet or piece.

How do I prepare for the cleaning?

We will need access to water, electricity, and a bathroom. Plan on securing animals and clearing breakables off furniture. Unless using our furniture moving service, please have areas to be cleaned exposed. Our furniture moving service includes pieces up to 50 lbs., couches, and excludes antiques. Plan to have moving air on the carpet for 4 to 12 hours after the cleaning, or notify Jen if using fan rental service. You will also be provided with a "How to Prepare for Your Cleaning" checklist and an "After Cleaning Care" and a "Long-term Carpet Care Tips" form.

How often should I get my carpets professionally deep cleaned?

The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends every 12 to 18 months, depending on your home's circumstances. For example, if you have allergies, and/or pets and children, you may need a deep cleaning every 6 to 12 months.
